Civil Engineer

Otak's Gearhart office is currently accepting applications for a Civil Engineer to supplement the office's engineering team for new and ongoing civil infrastructure and roadway/transportation design projects.
The successful candidate will work on all phases of site development, civil infrastructure and roadway design projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. Civil design projects will include grading, roadway design, utility design (water, sanitary, storm), stormwater management, erosion control, report writing, and the preparation of permit plans and construction documents. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have an enthusiastic and team-oriented attitude.
Typical job responsibilities include:
Performs civil infrastructure and roadway design services related to site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control in conformance with local, state and federal regulations
Planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of civil engineering projects including concept design, planning assistance, survey coordination, design plans, contracts, specifications, and cost estimates.
Prepares construction plans using AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Prepares specifications and cost estimates
Plans and coordinates projects with limited supervision
Provides construction support services
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Civil Engineer
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school is required
Must have a Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of Oregon or have the ability to obtain a license within six months from the date of hire is required
Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D desired
Must work well in a team environment and collaborate across departments throughout the organization
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
Must have strong organizational and time management skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
