Medical Technologist

Providence is calling: Providence Seaside Hospital is looking for a Medical Technologist to work an On Call Rotating/Variable shift.
In this position, you will:
Be responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision.
Be capable of performing pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution.
Work with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff in performing their duties.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Certification or Registry (Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist)) from a government agency or nationally recognized professional organization (eg. American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency (NCA), etc. OR eligible for certification or registry
Must obtain certification within 6 months of hire (During this period new hire will be placed at the trainee rate)
In Compliance with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), criminal background check and fingerprinting may be required for this position, based on assigned duties. Involves only those positions at Providence Portland Medical Center (PPMC) operating the blood irradiator machine.
