Behavioral Sciences Deputy Program Manager

This position will entail work in support of a wide range of applied behavioral science research initiatives supporting the Federal government. Be a thought and people leader within the program. Be able to clearly communicate with team members. Make thoughtful and reasonable decisions. Be professional in taking management actions and communicating actions to team members. Routinely interface with Government customer to ensure project execution, monitor funding, and assess potential issues. Support Program Manager in daily oversight tasks, periodic program reviews, and customer interface. Coordinate and conduct research using behavioral science principles, methodologies, and technologies in an applied governmental setting. Oversee and assist in development of research designs, literature reviews, collection of field data through interviews and focus groups, and statistical or descriptive analyses. Support and develop results of research through peer-reviewed publications, briefings and technical reports. Work cooperatively with team members to ensure quality, timeliness, and accuracy of research products. Regularly Interface with Military customers and consumers to meet their requirements, and assist in implementation of research findings and products. Complete routine managerial functions such as project review, human resources actions, performance appraisals, and career development. Experience managing or supervising personnel or projects Demonstrated strong analyticskills Demonstrated excellent writing skills Experience working in applied, Government research settings Excellent oral communication skills Demonstrated experience providing project briefings to Government representatives Working knowledge of and experience conducting analysis using SPSS Strong organizational skills Strong sense of time management Demonstrated attention to detail Demonstrated commitment to quality in scientific work Ability to work in a team setting with scientists, technical writers, information technology specialists, policymakers, and Government stakeholders Ability to develop personal work plans and work independently Ability to think independently to identify problems and propose solutions Working knowledge of MS Office
Qualifications:
PhD in a Behavioral Science field such as Psychology, Sociology, or Criminal Justice Fifteen (15) years' experience in applied research environment (research conducted in educational setting will be considered) DoD experience is desired Top Secret clearance is REQUIRED Location:
Seaside, CA, Washington, DC/Virginia
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Program ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
